David E. Stump

Mr. David E. Stump, 57, passed away January 21, 2024 at his residence after a long illness.

He was born July 12, 1966 in Campton, Kentucky. He was the son of the late James Chapman and Irene Kidd Johnson and worked in construction.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Deborah Mayes Stump of Booneville, Kentucky, one daughter, Ms. Brandy Mayes of Booneville, Kentucky and one son, Mr. Dusty Mayes of Booneville, Kentucky, five grandchildren Ms. Olivia Banks of Beattyville, Kentucky, Ms. Layla Banks of Booneville, Kentucky, Mr. Daniel Mayes of Booneville, Kentucky, Mr. Davin Mayes of Booneville, Kentucky and Mr. Dylan Mayes of Booneville, Kentucky. One great-grandchild, Claudia McPherson of Beattyville, Kentucky. His mother, Ms. Irene Kidd Johnson of Beattyville, Kentucky. Two sisters Ms. Donna Overbee of Beattyville, Kentucky and Ms. Rita Stump of Harlan County, Kentucky and one brother Mr. Daniel Stump of Mexico. Also he leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his dad Mr. James Chapman and a sister Ms. Rhonda Stump.

Graveside memorial services for Mr. Stump was held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery in Owsley County, Kentucky.

The Searcy and Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangement.
