Louisville District of the Army Corps of Engineers Meet with Local Representatives Concerning Flood Risk Management

Representatives from the Beattyville and Lee County joined the Louisville District of the Army Corps of Engineers via TEAMS as they gave a presentation seeking approval from their Headquarters to continue the flood risk management study for downtown Beattyville.
The study, which includes potentially flood-proofing 40 structures in the downtown area, focuses on businesses that supply essential goods and services and buildings that are on the historic register.
After completion, the presentation and study was approved to move on to the next phase.

A representative from the USACOE will be in attendance at the next regular Beattyville City Council Meeting to give an update.
