Teacher arrested after showing a student her nude photos that she denies doing

According to authorities, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, an Allen County High School teacher, Kerston Raines, 25, in Scottsville was arrested on a charge of distributing obscene matter to minors.

The investigation at the high school involved Raines and another staff member when he was informed that Raines had shown a student a nude photo. The student, then proceeded to tell officials that Raines had shown her a text message between Raines and a male teacher that included nude photos.

Raines told the officer that nude photos had been exchanged between her and the male teacher. She said the student could have seen the photos on her laptop, which is synced to her phone while she is at school. She, also, said that she leaves her laptop open and students have the opportunity to look at it. This is including her phone when selecting what music to listen to in class. She denies intentionally showing any student the pictures, according to authorities.

Raines was released from the Allen County Detention Center on bond.

All are considered innocent till guilty in a court of law.
