Herbert Gentry

Herbert Gentry, age 77, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, located in Lexington, KY, after a brief illness.

     Herbert was born June 27, 1947, in Richlands, VA a son to the late Paul and Charlotte (Brewster) Gentry. He was a heavy equipment operator, for many years. In his free-time, he enjoyed being with family and friends, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and a member of the Three Forks VFW Post 11296 in Beattyville, KY.

     He is survived by 2 sons; Herbert (Amanda) Gentry, of PA, Luther (Tabitha) Gentry, of IN, 5 Grandchildren, 2 special granddaughters; Treasure Mayes, Harley Gentry, 2 Great Grandchildren

     1 Sister; Linda Mitchell, of Winchester, KY, along with a host of cousins, and many other loving family members, and friends.

     Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son; David Gentry; 1 Brother; Roger Gentry.

     Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 202 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 7at 1:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Rev. L.C. Moore officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Steele - Gentry Cemetery located in Beattyville, KY.
