Mrs. Martha Belle Rice

Mrs. Martha Belle Rice, 69, passed away September 17, 2023 at her residence following a long illness.
She was born November 16, 1953 in Owsley County, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Charley T. & Dollie Marshall Bowling and she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rice is survived by two daughters: Ms. Dana Barrett and Paul Marshall & Ms. Shannon Renee Barrett all of Booneville, Ky., one son: Mr. Charles D. Rice of Booneville, Ky., seven grandchildren: Zachary Todd Deaton of Booneville, Ky., Brian Jacob Hurdle of Booneville, Ky., Landon Dale Rice, Laraley Jade Rice, Alexis Lerain Rice & Ava Grace Rice all of Beattyville, Ky. & Arabella Mercedes Binham of Booneville, Ky., two sisters: Mrs. DeEtta Thomas & Mrs. Bertha Bowling both of Booneville, Ky., a special friend: Mr. Steve Cox of Ohio. There were also several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Charley & Dollie Bowling, brothers: C.J., Boyd & George Bowling and one sister: Sylvia Gumm.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rice were held Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Searcy & Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the service was the Rev. Terry Sandlin. Burial followed in the Marshall Cemetery on Upper Wolf Creek in Owsley County.
The Searcy & Strong Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
