Mary Em (Moore) Gabbard

Mary Em (Moore) Gabbard, age 86 widow of William “Bill” Gabbard departed from this Earth on September 11, 2024 at her residence in Booneville, KY.

     Mary was born August 16, 1938 in Taft Community of Owsley County to the late Sam Moore and Lily (McGeorge) Moore. She was survived by her two sons, Tim (Peggy) Gabbard, and Henry (Naomi) Gabbard, both of Booneville. 8 grandchildren, Michael (Christy) Gabbard, Karen Gabbard, Natasha Rodriguez, Amy Bledsoe, William (Jamie) Gabbard, Ashlee Gabbard, Brittany (Dylan) Barrett, Kayla (Josh) Sebastian, 23 great grands kids, 11 great great-grandkids, 1 sister, Virgie Sandlin, her special friend, Andrea Faulkner, and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Christian and member of John 3:16 House of Worship. She loved the Lord, her family, gardening, preserving food, her cats, and bird watching.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, William (Bill) Gabbard, 2 sons, Edgar Gabbard and Keith Gabbard, 1 daughter, Darlene Gabbard, 1 daughter in law, Betty Gabbard, 4 brothers, Robert Moore, Bruce Moore, Palmer Moore, Boone Moore, 5 sisters, Beulah Sizemore, Geneva Gilbert, Toleda Sizemore, Grace McDaniel, Sarah Robinson.

     Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Booneville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of Service at the Booneville Funeral Home with Reverend Ernie Asher officiating. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, located in Pebworth Community of Owsley County, KY.
