September 16, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ella “MaMaw” Frances Peters  Terry, 87, a beloved member of the community, who departed from this world on September 7, 2024. Born on October 8, 1936, to the late Taylor and Edna Moore Peters in Booneville.  Ella was a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and a treasured friend. She lived her life with a spirit of generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Throughout her life, Ella was known for her many contributions to the community. As the oldest founding member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, she found solace and strength in her faith, embodying its teachings through her kindness and compassion towards others. She was a dedicated member of the Eastern Star in Booneville and a former Levee Homemaker. Ella's talents as a seamstress and quilter brought beauty and warmth to the lives of many, and her green thumb was evident in her flourishing flower and vegetable gardens.

Her cooking brought joy to countless individuals, especially when she prepared meals for the sick and those in need. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she found true happiness in giving to others.
A native of Owsley County, Ella had called Montgomery County home for over 50 years. She dedicated her working years to both AO Smith and Chef America, retiring from these positions with a sense of fulfillment and pride.
Ella leaves behind her children, Tim Terry, Tony Terry and Tammy Williams (Leslie); grandchildren, Shane Powell (Melissa), Tracy Adams (Cam), Kayla Davis (Chris), Sarah Markuszewski (Michael), Jordan Terry, Jamie England (Brian), Kim Hinkle Caskey, Scottie Williams, and Joe Williams; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved companion cat, Barn Cat.
